Moses closes Psalm 90 with a prayer that reaches into every part of life. He asks God for favor and for the work of their hands to be established.

This is more than a request for success. It is a recognition that all meaningful, long-lasting fruit comes from God’s blessing, not from human striving. Moses understood something essential for biblical health: our well-being is strengthened when our lives align with God’s favor and our work flows from His guidance.

The “work of our hands” includes everything we do daily. Our routines. Our habits. Our relationships. Our decisions. Our stewardship of the body God gave us. Too often people enter a new year with heavy pressure to fix themselves through sheer willpower. But Moses teaches us a different approach. It is God who establishes. It is God who strengthens. It is God who breathes life into our efforts.

When the favor of the Lord rests on us, we experience clarity instead of confusion, peace instead of pressure, and purpose instead of busyness. This has real impact on our health. Stress decreases. The mind settles. The body functions more smoothly. A life supported by God’s favor becomes sustainable, rather than exhausting.

God also desires to establish health-building habits in us. Rushed intentions do not last, but Spirit-led rhythms do. Moses’ prayer helps us see that daily practices like rest, nourishment, movement, prayer, and wise boundaries are not random choices. They are the “work of our hands” that God wants to strengthen for long-term wholeness. When He establishes something, it becomes stable and fruitful.

The favor of God leads to the right work, not merely more work. Many people feel overwhelmed because they are carrying tasks God never asked them to carry. Biblical health grows when we allow God to prune what drains us and bless what truly matters. His favor simplifies. It calms. It directs. And it supports our physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

Today, pray Moses’ prayer over your own life. Ask God to place His favor on you and to establish the habits, decisions, and work that lead to health and stability. Invite Him to strengthen what aligns with His design and remove what does not.

Prayer: Father, let Your favor rest on me today. Establish the work of my hands and guide my routines, habits, and choices. Strengthen what leads to health and remove what drains my life. Help me walk in rhythms that honor You and bring wholeness to my body, mind, and spirit. Amen.
